Largest church in Asia, Se Cathedral Goa, holds an important place in the Portuguese history of Goa and driving impact on the life style of Goa. The construction work for this fabulous Christian architectural wonder was started in the 1562 and was completed in the year 1619 but church was sanctified in 1640.
Dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria, architecture of Se cathedral is illustrating architectural fusion of Gothic elements and typical Portuguese style with exterior of Tuscan style and interior of Corinthian style.
Se cathedral has fifteen altars and eight chapels including Chapels of St. Anthony, St. Bernard and chapel of Cross of Miracles on the right side of main altar. Famous for huge church bell, called as Golden Bell, Se Cathedral is open for the visitors from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm.

Se Cathedral is located just opposite of Basilica of Bom Jesus in the old Goa quite close to Panjim city. Visitors on Goa tour need to cover road distance of about 9 km from Panaji to Old Goa either by local bus or by hired taxi / auto for reaching Se Cathedral, which one of must visited tourist place on Goa tourism.

Se Cathedral Goa is world renowned for its unique and exquisite architecture, Giant Church bell and being the largest church in Asia. Even today there is No church in Portugal is as bigger as Se Cathedral Goa.
