One among the popular tourist attractions of Goa tourism, ruins of St. Paul Church are situated on the road leading to Ponda from the Old Goa. According to history of Goa, the construction work of this historic church was completed in the year 1543 on 25th January, the day which is presently celebrated as the feast day of St. Paul.
In the olden days St. Paul church was famous as the educational institution in India, with facility for higher studies in the subjects like Music, Latin, Arts and Sciences. St. Paul is the person who started the first printing press in Asia and started circulating printed publications around 1560. Due to stringent opposition from Augustinians and Nuns of Santa Monica, government in the year 1829 decided to demolish this religious site but still some parts of this majestic church and front entrance are there in ruin status. In the history of Goa members of the Holy Faith, specially St. Paul, Father Diogo de Borba and Fatherr Miguel Vaz are credited for the establishment of this church and popular educational institution.

Located on the road between Old Goa and Ponda, St. Paul Church is accessible by the buses plying at regular interval. Visitor can also hire a taxi to visit ruins of once majestic St. Paul Church Goa.
